Personal work: Teen Titans!!!!

From a start off sketch of the Tim Drake "Robin" i spent most of the day doing this fun piece.

Here is the initial " Robin" drawing that started it all.

Next i added in Superboy, Wonder Girl and Kid Flash. Then water colored them in.
:)

This was the finished piece/ drawing in my sketchbook. ( Kid flash was alittle too close to Robin)

I dragged it into Photoshop and added a Orange Gradient background and cleaned up the sides and edges.
A good day of drawing Teen Titans. Maybe a compliment to the review i done. : )

Personal work: Doodles and sketches.

These are just some drawing in my sketchbook. The first drawing was for my Mighty Thor and the other one is called  "Ghost".

New Segment: Comic Books/ Graphic Novel reviews. Teen Titans: A Kids Game

This is a new segment and it's something I've wanted to try out for a while. If you had not already guessed I am a HUGE comic book nerd/fan. I love reading and drawing comic books. I've been following a large range of comic books titles for about 4 years now and have collected a large number of them.

I wanted to start off this new segments of posts with a review of the first trade that I bought years ago - Teen Titans "A Kids Game", written by Geoff Johns and art by Mike Mckone and Tom Grummett.
I became a huge fan of the Teen Titans thanks to the TV show that aired on Cartoon Network a few years ago so I wanted to start reading the comics. This story is the start of the coming together of the New Team of Titans.  Its starts by introducing the reader to the potential new members of this team, Superboy ( Conner Kent), Robin (Tim Drake), Wonder Girl  (Cassie Sandmark ) and  Impluse/Kid Flash ( Bart Allen). It also introduces them to Titans of old, Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy, who are bringing this team back together to mentor and train these young heroes to be a new Titans team. Geoff Johns leads this new team of teenage heroes on their first mission to save the people of San Francisco from a huge explosion caused by an old enemy of the Titans. This adds an interesting and unexpected twist to the story for this new team. This trade was a great starting point for me to get into the backstory of the Teen Titans and also inspired me to continue to find the other TT trades.  Its full of action and fun and I particularly liked how the story allowed the team to develop, both individually and as a new family. There is also some very interesting back stories about each new member -some of which are quite dark. I liked the Superboy one as he tries so hard to prove to Superman that he is capable of fulfilling his 'secret' identity role and his roles as a Super hero and as a member of the Teen Titans. This is a fantastic junping on point if you have never read Teen Titans before. Highly recommended.

Personal Work: Wacom Tablet play around Part 1: Tri edge Fan art

Personal work: Batman of Gotham City.

Based of the Batman and Robin cover by Frank Quietly ( sorry if i spelt your name wrong)

University Project: Client Brief Hallmark

We have been asked by Hallmark Cards to help design a new range of Christmas Cards for the year 2012/13 For this project I was inspired by 1950s B movie posters as a theme to base my card designs on and also to convey my message of Christmas.  I used original 1950s movie posters such as "The creature that walks among us" and " The Blob" to help base the layout and composition for the illustrations.
Final Card Designs

" Attack of the 50ft Cracker" based on "Attack of the 50ft Women". On this illustration I messed up the colours for the cracker and background. I need to redraw and apply the right colours next time.

Attack of the Brussels Sprout- This one was loosely based on "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes"  This illustration was the one that Hallmark thought had the best potential but needs to be updated with a new background colour and the text repositioning.

It came from Father Christmas- This is based of " It came from Outer Space".  Father Christmas leaves his giant present to the world. This one I enjoyed doing, but the only problem is the text. In the original poster the text was bigger and was spread across the lower half of the poster. That was the mistake I made for this one. Lesson learned.

The Blob - Based of the Blob. This illustrates the  father / grandfather eating far too much and becoming the indescribable BLOB!!!! Same problem as before, tooo blue!!

The Snowman walks among us!- Based on the " The Creature Walks Among us!" This illustration was a joy to do and think up. Same problem as before with the background and I should have shown that it was snowing in the background. Give a more christmasy feel.

Personal Work: Scarlet spider Venom

Uni work: Wall of type part 2

Final Pieces for Wall of type

Acrylic paint
 Colour Pencil

 Marker Pen
Water Colour

These are the wall of type final illustrated pieces.  They are observational drawing of the wall of type done in different mediums, such as water colour, marker pen, acrylic paint and others.  These are to demonstrate the different media ability to Staedler products. I did not like my final for this project. The only one i think is suitable and well presented is the Water colour version.  The water colour version i think i demonstrated the medium very well and also demonstrated the wall of type letters well.

Personal Drawing. Captain America

This is a water colour Fan art of Captain America!!!!!!!
